On behalf of the custodian of the two holly mosques king Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud- may God protect him- His Excellency minister of economy and planning Engr. Adel bin Mohammed Fakieh inaugurates the events of the GCC statistical forum under the theme " enhancing statistical collaborations to support economic policies and sustainable development in the GCC region" on Monday 20th of March 2017. The forum s organized by the general authority for statistics and the GCC statistical center in Riyadh. It will last for three days until Wednesday 22nd of March 2017.
Many political personalities such as ministers, GCC general secretariat leaders, ambassadors, statistical entities heads, international and regional organizations representatives, specialists in statistics, and media will participate in the forum.
The participants will discuss the GCC region's statistical challenges that are represented in the need for reliable and classified data to help in measuring the progress in achieving the national visions and development goals. They are also represented in the increasing demand for statistical data and information in some fields that are not familiar in the national statistical systems and statistical requirements to support the distinct developmental tracks and achievements in the GCC region.
In 4 sessions and 6 seminars, the experts will discuss many topics, most of which are about statistical data and information demand resulted from the national developmental tracks, sustainable development agenda, and emerging international economic issues. They will also discuss the statistical products and services provision to support the national developmental tracks and sustainable development in the GCC region. Moreover, the topic of enhancing statistical collaborations between data users and producers to support economic policies and sustainable development in the GCC region will be discussed too.
A scientific and awareness exhibition will be held within the forum events. Many GCC statistical organizations and establishments specialized in information and statistical technologies will participate in the exhibition. The exhibition will be available for specialists, academics, students, and government entities leaders so that they can identify the statistical methodologies in the economic, social. Energy, natural resources, open data, statistical awareness, and sustainable development fields. The exhibition is held to be a knowledge base for students, researchers, statistical organizations, and those who are interested in statistics. Through this exhibition, you can identify the GCC statistical organizations' activities, products, and services in the field of data and information.
