The General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) has launched the Statistical calendar for the 1439H Hajj season. In this calendar, GASTAT determines the Publishing dates of services provided to pilgrims. In addition, statistics of pilgrims coming from inside and outside Saudi Arabia will be presented. The calendar includes statistics and figures that aim at highlighting the efforts exerted by more than 45 governmental entities, especially those provided to pilgrims. Starting from the second day of Dhu-Al-Hijjah, GASTAT will announce many statistics such as health and medical services statistics, public services statistics, transportation sector services statistics, and communication services statistics. After that, GASTAT will publish the numbers of pilgrims coming from inside and outside Saudi Arabia to Makkah in a daily basis, until they announce the total number of pilgrims on the evening of Arafah the 9^th of Dhu-Al-Hijjah. GASTAT depends on a comprehensive counting method to carry out the statistics program of pilgrims coming from inside Saudi Arabia for all the individuals who come to Makkah with Hajj intention. This is achieved through the Hajj statistics centers that are located at all the entrances of Makkah and through the supporting centers in Jeddah, Taif and Medina. The enumeration process will start on the first day of Dhu Al-hijjah and will end in the evening of the 9^th of Dhu Al-hijjah at 6:00 P.M of the same month. The enumeration also includes pilgrims coming from outside Saudi Arabia which is done by the General Directorate of Passports at the Kingdom’s entry points. The Hajj statistics program aims to provide accurate and comprehensive data about the number of pilgrims by arrival way and days of arrival in order to be used to prepare the necessary plans and programs for providing high quality of care for pilgrims.
