The General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) released the updated national version of the Generic Statistical Business Process Model (GSBPM). This model acts as a methodological framework for national statistical operations in Saudi Arabia and serves as a key reference for statistics production across government and private sectors. It is also utilized by GASTAT to enhance the quality of statistical processes throughout all stages and to standardize practices in statistical production. The model aims to improve the quality and effectiveness of statistics in achieving the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.

The national version of GSBPM, which aligns with the latest international version issued by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe, includes terminology, definitions, an overview of the model, and detailed descriptions of the stages involved in statistical production. These stages cover identification of needs, design,  data collection, data processing, data analysis, publication , and evaluation. This version aims to enhance the processes used in producing statistics and standardize work methods. It also reflects methodologies used by various international statistical organizations and improves coordination and governance among different entities or departments within the statistical sectors.

The national version of GSBPM is available on GASTAT’s official website in both Arabic and English.
