Today, the Royal Commission for Al-Ula signed a memorandum of cooperation with the General Authority for Statistics to measure the social and economic development indicators related to the governorate. The memorandum included measuring population development indicators, income and expenditure rates, as well as indicators of culture, sustainability, tourism, education and other developmental and population indicators and statistics in Al-Ula.
The memorandum was signed at the headquarters of the Royal Commission in Riyadh by the CEO of the Royal Commission for Al-Ula, Eng. Amr bin Saleh AlMadani, and the President of the General Authority for Statistics Dr. Konrad Pesendorfer.
In turn, the President of GASTAT, Dr. Konrad Pesendorfer stressed on the importance of providing accurate statistical data and indicators when setting sustainable development plans in all fields, because it gives policy and decision makers detailed and comprehensive visualization about what is going on in real life, which directly contributes in formulating the required goals and determining their procedures and implementation mechanisms with the highest degree of efficiency and proficiency.
Following the signing, the CEO of the Royal Commission for Al-Ula, Eng. Amr Al-Madani in a press said” The signing of this memorandum comes within the efforts to achieve the vision of Al-Ula and the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 through the sustainable development in Al-Ula and achieving the aspirations of the quality of life for the residents and visitors.
Eng. Al-Madani added that data aquisition and analysis, which will be carried out according to the memorandum with GASTAT, will support the decision-making process in the Royal Commission for Al-Ula, and enhance the measurement of the Authority’s projects and programs impact.
It is worth mentioning that the General Authority for Statistics is the only official statistical reference for statistical data and information in Saudi Arabia. It implements all statistical works, supervises the statistical sector, designs and carries out all field surveys, conducts statistical studies and research, analyses data and information, in addition to documenting, archiving, classifying, tabulating, and extracting indicators of all statistical data and information which cover all aspects of life in Saudi Arabia from their different sources.
