It is one of the surveys carried out by the Environment Statistics Department through which it seeks to provide environmental statistical data that is in line with international standards and classifications to enable policy makers and decision makers to take successful ways to develop the environment of the industrial sector. Further, it aims to support the transition towards a circular economy that aims to reduce waste of materials, commodities and energy and capitalize on them as much as possible, and to reduce the resulting pollution. Such data also meets the requests of beneficiaries from internal agencies and international organizations.

Waste Production:
Waste is any excess and unwanted materials produced during the production process.
Waste used:
the amount of waste that was used inside the establishment or during the production processes, either by reusing the waste in its current state without making any conversion operations, recycling it to be usable materials, or burning it to produce energy.
Production from water:
the water that is produced or extracted by the establishment. For example, the establishment extracts water from an artesian well, as well as the production of desalinated water by a desalination plant.
Treated Wastewater:
Wastewater that has been treated chemically, mechanically, biologically, or all of them to be reused.

What is meant by waste generation?
Wastes are the secondary materials produced during the manufacturing process. For example, when sewing a garment, the remaining scraps of fabric are considered leftovers produced by the establishment . The other example is when making a wooden box, the cuttings of wood are wooden waste that has been produced.
What is meant by does the establishment use waste?
This question means whether the establishment uses the waste, whether produced materials, such as making sawdust from the excesses of wood when cutting it, or purchased materials, such as buying waste paper and making carton boxes.
What is meant by production from water?
The water that is produced or extracted by the establishment, such as when the establishment has an artesian well and draws water from it, thus, it produces (extracts) water. Another example is an establishment that has a desalination unit and produces desalinated water, whatever the source of the water, thus, it produces desalinated water.
