Individuals with disabilities are those who have impairments in any of their physical or mental functions that lead to limitations in their ability to participate due to environmental and personal factors. According to the Washington Group on Disability Statistics classification, difficulties are measured on a three-point scale (mild, moderate, severe).
- Visual Impairment:
An individual who experiences difficulty in vision, even with the use of corrective glasses. They have problems in visual perception that limit their ability to perform daily tasks.
- Hearing Impairment:
An individual who experiences difficulty in hearing, even with the use of hearing aids. They have problems in auditory perception and understanding speech.
- Communication Difficulties:
The inability of an individual to communicate with others, such as difficulty in understanding what others say to them, and others' difficulty in understanding what they say.
- Mobility Impairment:
An individual who has a total or partial inability or difficulty in moving the lower parts of the body, or difficulty in walking or climbing stairs.
- Memory or Concentration Difficulties:
An individual who experiences difficulty in remembering events or activities within a span of two days, and also has difficulty in maintaining focus during conversations with others.
