أصدرت الهيئة العامة للإحصاء نتائج إحصاءات البيئة المنزلية لعام 2024م والتي أظهرت أن معظم الأسر في المملكة تتمتع بالوصول إلى خدمات مياه الشرب الأساسية بنسبة تقارب 100%، فيما بلغت نسبة الأسر المستفيدة من مياه الشرب الآمنة 99.8%، وبينت النتائج أن المياه المعبأة تُعد المصدر الرئيس لمياه الشرب بنسبة 47.3%، تليها مياه الشبكة العامة بنسبة 36.5%، ثم مياه الصهاريج بنسبة 15.8%
كما أوضحت الإحصاءات أن 99.9% من الأسر تستفيد من خدمات الصرف الصحي الأساسية، بينما بلغت نسبة المستفيدين من خدمات الصرف الصحي الآمنة 89.5%، حيث سجلت المناطق الحضرية نسبة 93.7%، مقابل 59.3% في المناطق الريفية، وفي جانب إدارة النفايات أظهرت النتائج أن 99.9% من الأسر تستفيد من خدمات جمع النفايات الأساسية، فيما تتخلص 43.9% من الأسر من النفايات داخل المنازل بشكل يومي.
وتستند هذه النتائج إلى بيانات المسوح الميدانية التي تنفذها الهيئة العامة للإحصاء إضافةً إلى السجلات الإدارية الواردة من وزارة البيئة والمياه والزراعة بما يضمن جودة البيانات ودقتها لدعم السياسات الوطنية وتحقيق أهداف الاستدامة.
